Rules of the Game

Players: 6 v 6 (5 field players, 1 goalie)

Game Length: 25 minutes      Ball Size: 5

 FIFA Rules are in effect with the following exceptions/clarifications:

1.  Ball out of play - We will have sidelines and end lines.  When the ball goes over the end line, it is either a corner or goal kick as normal.  When the ball passes over the sideline, a throw-in will be awarded.

2.  Offside - Offside is not in effect.

3. Substitutions - Free substitution may be made on the fly.  Players must enter at the halfway line, after the other player has exited the field.  Illegal substitutions will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team.

4. Free Kicks - Players must stand 10 yards away from the ball. 

5. Goal Kicks - Taken anywhere within the penalty area.  Ball may not cross the halfway line without being touched by another player, OR THE GROUND. 

6. Goalkeeper - May not play the ball past the halfway line without another player touching it or it touching the ground unless she plays the ball at her feet.

7. Points - Three points for a win
  One point for a tie
  Zero points for a loss

8. Tie breakers will be decided by:
 
a. Head to Head  b. Most wins  
c.  Goal Differential  d. Goals for  e. Toss of coin

9. Running time - will be held by the referee on the field.

10. Sending off - Any player sent off is out for the entire tournament.

11.  Forfeit - Any games won because of forfeit, will be awarded a 3-0 score.

12. Lateness - Any team more than 5 minutes late for the game time start will automatically forfeit the match.  You must have five players to start the match (4 field and one keeper).

13. Warm-up- maximum of 3 minutes on the field.

14.  Playoffs/Championship games – At the end of regulation time, if the game is tied, the winner will be determined by the best of 3 penalty kick shootout.  A coin toss determines order of shooting.  The first round of shootouts will consist of 3 players from each team.  If the score remains tied after the first round of penalty kicks, sudden death penalty kick format will be used until one team scores unanswered.
